AC Schnitzer Unveils Power and Styling Upgrades for the BMW XM
The BMW XM has a bold design, but AC Schnitzer is offering a package to make it even more eye-catching. This renowned tuner has developed upgrades for the exterior, wheels, powertrain, and even a touch for the interior.
The most significant change comes under the hood. AC Schnitzer has boosted the XM’s output by a significant 97 hp (72 kW) to a staggering 740 hp (552 kW). Torque also sees an impressive increase of 74 lb-ft (100 Nm) to reach 664 lb-ft (900 Nm). Interestingly, this puts the tuned XM slightly ahead of the range-topping Label model in horsepower, although the Label still holds the edge in torque.
While AC Schnitzer hasn’t released official performance figures yet, the stock XM reaches 60 mph (97 km/h) in 4.1 seconds. Considering the power increase, we can expect the tuned version to shave off a few tenths of a second, potentially matching the Label’s 3.6-second sprint.
Beyond the engine, AC Schnitzer offers a new spring kit that lowers the XM by 0.8-1 inches (20-25 mm) for sharper handling. This improvement comes at the expense of a slightly stiffer ride. They also provide a spacer kit that widens the track by 0.4 inches (10 mm) per side, further enhancing handling and allowing for a wider variety of wheels.
Speaking of wheels, AC Schnitzer offers their exclusive AC5 Flowforming alloys in two finishes: bi-tone or glossy black. Designed specifically for large BMW crossovers, these 23-inch wheels feature a double-spoke design with pentagonal hub caps and come in staggered widths of 10.5 inches at the front and 11.5 inches at the rear. The tuner recommends tires sized 295/35 for the front and 335/30 for the rear.
The final touch is a subtle body kit that adds a front splitter with side wings, rear diffuser fins, and a roof-mounted wing. These elements are said to improve downforce and are available for separate purchase if you prefer a more restrained look. The package is completed by AC Schnitzer emblems and a few interior details, all available in black or silver.
This upgrade package from AC Schnitzer gives the BMW XM a more aggressive appearance and potentially sharper handling, while significantly boosting its already impressive power output.
